Representatives from the New Jersey PACE Association, Theresa Edelstein, Ian Magerkurth and Dena Register, took to Capitol Hill on March 24 to advocate for improved access to PACE for older adults. Advocacy Day was part of the National PACE Association's Spring Policy Forum which featured CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz who delivered a motivational keynote address urging PACE to get in front of enhancing wellness and using technology to improve care and coordination of services.

Legislative staff from New Jersey House of Representatives' offices and both New Jersey Senate offices participated in great dialogue about access barriers including enrollment which can only occur on the first of each month and submission of PACE expansion or initiation applications once per quarter to CMS. The Association appreciates the interest and enthusiasm of the NJ delegation and looks forward to hosting visits with them throughout the Garden State.
