The New Jersey PACE Association has voiced meaningful recommendations for how PACE can contribute to the State’s success in its application to CMS for the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).  RHTP is a $50 billion nationwide funding opportunity over the next five years to bring sustainable innovation to care for rural communities. NJPA provided this information through verbal testimony, response to New Jersey’s stakeholder survey and a detailed letter to Governor Murphy’s policy team.

NJPA recommended:

  • Further investment in remote monitoring technology so PACE can build upon its success
  • Establishing two mobile PACE units to bring diagnostic services and primary care to participants in their communities
  • Developing apprenticeship and internship opportunities in PACE for students in health care fields to foster connection to community-based care
  • Leading a pilot PACE initiative for people with Medicare who are not yet eligible for Medicaid and who otherwise meet PACE eligibility criteria
